College Ready
Coney Island Prep High School is a four-year, college preparatory, public charter high school located in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn and is the first charter school located in Community School District 21. Founded in 2013, CIPHS enrolls approximately 350 students in grades 9-12, with 75 students in the senior class. Since its first graduating class in 2017, every Coney Island Prep senior graduates with college acceptances in hand.
Scholars dive into a rigorous curriculum rich with AP courses, College and Career Readiness classes, all in a supportive, small-school environment with extracurricular opportunities from sports to enrichment clubs and leadership opportunities.
Scholars leap at the opportunity to study abroad, attend summer pre-college programs, or secure an internship. In recent years, scholars have studied at summer programs in China, France, Vietnam, Mexico, Japan, Ecuador, Morocco, Italy, Jordan and Spain, and received college credits at Georgetown, University of Rochester, Brown, Marist, UConn, Yale, and many other colleges and universities.

PRIDE Promise
PRIDE Promise is Coney Island Prep’s way of backing our commitment to our community’s future leaders with the financial resources to catalyze their future dreams. Eligible Coney Island Prep High School graduates who have demonstrated PRIDE throughout high school and matriculate to a four-year college receive tuition assistance and financial support starting at the generous baseline amount of $3,000 annually.
Funded by an anonymous donor, all Coney Island Prep High School (CIPHS) seniors are eligible for the PRIDE Promise scholarship. The purpose and intent of the generous gift is to enable scholars in their college persistence efforts by encouraging matriculation to highly selective, best-fit colleges and universities.
